Ruby Isle

What was the first movie you ever saw in the theaters?

I believe the first movie I saw was "Back to the Future" with Dan and Carolyn. I also believe Mom and Grandma were with us. Memories are a little hazy on this one, but I think we took the family truckster to Ruby Isle.

Dan and Carolyn? Is this correct?

Mom, since you have been to 3 movies since the Eisenhower administration, I'm not sure if you remember or not.

Yes, I think you are right. Grandma was with us and we spilled most of the big tub of popcorn we bought.

I was just a little turd back then, but I thought it was Empire Strikes Back. Mom? You were in your 50s at that point, right?

I actually was alive during the Eisenhower administration!
I will let you know that Dad and I recently went to the movies and saw Julie and Julia and that was during the Obama administration - so there!
I do remember the Ruby Isle well. The first movie we saw as a family there was Tarzan - seriously. I believe Dad can back me on this one. I had to hobble in on my walker.

Legend of Greyskull? Really?

I'm sticking with McFly. I would think the romantic union of a feral man and a debutante was a bit above my 9yr old brain.

Was it a musical?

p.s. Dad, turn in your man card.

I don't ever remember Tarzan. Back to the Future was the first I remember.

You are my density...

It was Tarzan. There's something about a guy in a loin cloth that gets to Mom......

It was Tarzan guys - no doubt about it.

All these years when I sing "the hills are alive whith the sound of music" I think of our theater career, Karen. I never knew you were really thinking of a guy in a loin cloth. Here we are, almost 60 years old (well YOU anyway, I still have some time) and I am stunned!

To put a slam dunk to this discussion.....picture me in a loin cloth. Now you kids know why I had that rope swing put in our bedroom.

Good God almighty Dad, quit that! Scarred, scarred, scarred...

So, for our first movie, you took us to Tarzan: Legend of Greyskull. Who lost a bet? I am sure we weren't clamoring to go see shots of some dude's side-butt. Did the sitter cancel?
